k.u.k Demel

Mohammad must come to the Kaiserschmarrn!

Austria (and the rest of the world) is still in the throes of that pesky little pandemic called COVID, and at least until Easter, restaurants in Austria are only allowed to offer take-out/take-away, with no in-dining options for patrons.

Which is most unfortunate in winter, when all you want is to huddle up inside a little cafe, having a coffee and a pastry in peace. Instead, now you have to huddle outside on a freezing bench enjoying said snacks. And you can’t even scroll mindlessly on your phone because your fingers will freeze off.

But, do not despair! Many restaurants in Vienna have gotten creative with their take-out options, and the world famous k.u.k bakery Demel, located smack dab in the middle of the inner city, is no exception!

Now offering their amazing Kaiserschmarrn in an adorable little to-go container featuring a caricature of Emperor Franz Joseph (the dish IS named after him you know), you can enjoy their Kaiserschmarrn on a train, on a plane, in a box, with a fox, here or there, you can enjoy Demel’s Kaiserschmarrn ANYWHERE!

So if you’re bummed about cafes and restaurants being closed, it’s time to think outside the box, and get in the spirit of these new limited time options!

Guten Appetit!
